What better way to start the day than to walk alongside people who are open, curious, compassionate and kind? I have always loved the idea of woman supporting woman, walking alongside and leaving no one behind. So when I saw the Mentor Walk this year, I decided to join it. Thank you Lean In Network Singapore and Mentor Walks for the thoughtful pairing of mentors and mentees. ❤️ That's how I met my mentor Radha Raman and fellow mentee Clara Luneau and Cherrie Kin. I loved the sharing, discussion and hard reflective questions. The space felt safe. The question that stayed with me was, "What am I doing today that is uncomfortable that will help me grow?" Meeting new people and reaching out is still uncomfortable for me, but I choose to do it anyway. The same goes for running Eco-Convo, learning Japanese, and picking new concepts - nature-based solution, microplastics, circular economy etc. I’ve learned that even the most challenging tasks feel manageable when I’m supported, and the easiest tasks can be daunting when I feel alone. Which brings me another concept from the walk that stayed with me: Feelings → Thoughts → Behaviour While it’s a useful lens for leaders trying to understand and align behaviour, I’ve found it even more powerful as a self-reflection tool. Instead of focusing on changing thoughts, I now ask myself: ✨What are the feelings driving this behaviour? ✨What is one small thing I can do to shift how I feel? Really thankful for the energizing walk and the super powerful and uplifting conversation!
