PhD in Computer Science

🎓 From “How” to “Why” Finishing a PhD is less about collecting answers and more about reshaping the way one thinks. When I began this journey, my focus was on how—how systems function, how theories apply, how problems can be solved. Over time, these questions shifted. The deeper pursuit became the why—why structures evolve as they do, why certain theories align with particular methods, why problems can be solved in the ways they are, why outcomes diverge even when problems seem similar. This shift from “how” to “why” has been the true reward of the doctoral journey. It demanded patience, persistence, and at times, a willingness to sit with uncertainty longer than comfort allows. It also taught me that the value of research lies not only in solutions but in the new questions it opens. It cultivated a way of thinking—an enduring habit of curious questioning that I will carry forward into every new challenge. This attitude of questioning doesn’t just shape research—it shapes how to approach complex problems in any domain: uncovering root causes, challenging assumptions, and seeking lasting solutions. I am grateful to those who supported me throughout this long process — especially Xiaoqing "Frank" Liu, family, and friends. ✨ The degree may be complete, but the curiosity of questioning has just begun!!
