Strategy | M&A | Tranformation @ BASF
Yesterday marked a significant milestone as BASF successfully closed the sale of its Food and Health Performance Ingredients Business to Louis Dreyfus Company. Together with my colleague Thomas Blaschke, I had the privilege of delivering the the final step: handing over the BASF Human Nutrition site in Illertissen to the new (and current) Site Director, Claus Christoph Zimmerer. It has been an incredible journey for me to shape this transaction from the initial concept through M&A strategy, negotiations, carve-out execution, and finally to closing and handover. Throughout every phase, our guiding principle was clear: creating value for all stakeholders. I am proud to say we achieved this goal. The acquired business now serves as the nucleus for LDC’s Food and Feed Solutions growth strategy, enabling forward integration into higher value products. Our former colleagues are now at the forefront of this exciting growth journey, while BASF sharpens its focus on core chemicals. A heartfelt thank you to OLIVIER DONON, Janet Yap, and Robert Serpollet for their trustful collaboration in bringing this project to fruition, and to Marcel Souren, Gabriele Giovannetti, and Martin Volland for entrusting BASF Inhouse Consulting with this important task. This transaction stands as yet another example of how BASF Inhouse Consulting contributes to shaping and executing BASF’s strategy. Looking forward to seeing the continued success of all involved!
