🚨 New Policy Brief – Towards a more effective BOI: Addressing Institutional Bottlenecks in Thailand's Investment and Talent Strategy Thailand is at a crossroads. As global competition for talent and capital intensifies, the ability to adapt and streamline policy becomes not just a matter of efficiency, but of national competitiveness. Drawing from both research expertise and real-world experience navigating Thailand’s visa and investment systems, I’ve written a policy brief highlighting key barriers and offering six actionable policy recommendations to unlock growth. These focus on: * Visa & work permit reform * Capital mobility * Digital infrastructure * Inter-agency coordination * Support for SMEs and skilled foreign professionals The brief is a constructive contribution to ongoing reform efforts and a call to deepen academic-public-private collaboration. I’d like to sincerely thank those working hard to modernize the system and welcome engagement from stakeholders across the ecosystem, particularly: * Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) * Thai Chamber of Commerce * สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย | The Federation of Thai Industries * Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand * Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) * EABC -The European Chamber of Commerce Thailand * The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM Thailand) * Pavida Pananond * Noel Clehane * Sorranart Rattanarojmongkol Let’s work together to ensure Thailand remains a magnet for innovation, investment and top global talent.
