There are so many veterans' organizations doing incredible things for us, but it can often feel overwhelming when you have to decide how much time and energy you can put towards each one in terms of #volunteering. I spoke to my VFW Post about hosting a car wash in our parking lot as a #fundraising event for Irreverant Warriors and they happily agreed. After 5 hours of fun and hard work by volunteers from both Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1966 and South Florida Irreverent Warriors, Inc., we raised almost $900 for the 2023 IW kick-off hike in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It was a win-win for both organizations. Instead of competing for members and volunteers, let's combine our efforts towards the greater good of our veteran and active military communities.
