Today‘s Office Hours sessions feature Aggie 100 recipient Mike Watts, founder & CEO of LoveHandle in partnership with Daymond John of Shark Tank ABC fame. Thanks to Mike and his wife for joining us at last night‘s Maroon & White Night in Downtown Bryan, hosted by Destination Bryan and sponsored by House of Geekdom. Mike will meet with Texas A&M University student and non-student startups at Lake Walk Innovation Center from 11 am - 4 pm, then take a break to get ready for his keynote tonight at Red Bull Basement, beginning at 5:30 pm in the auditorium at the innovation center (3891 S. Traditions Dr.) across from Viasat Inc. and FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies in the A&M Biocorridor. This event is free for college students and faculty with A&M, Texas A&M University System‘s RELLIS Campus and Blinn College. Joining Mike at the soon-to-be-renamed 8 acre innovation hub is Startup Aggieland graduate and Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization alumni Andy Redmer - a global ecommerce guru like Mike and an inventor who will also speak at tonight‘s event after holding office hours. Andy and Mike will base upstairs in our Glass Box Conference Room or 2nd Level Founders‘ Conference Room in the 50,000 sq. ft. former corporate campus built by another Aggie 100 member and global ecommerce giant. Andy became successful by combining his passions for skateboarding, gaming and entrepreneurship to create Elemental Knives, leading maker of ceracoted and themed collectibles. Andy went on to produce other products that also have done well. He also is a savvy and well-known Crypto investor who has spoken for us twice to large crowds, once in 2017 at the innovation center with the late, true entrepreneur Artie McFerrin of the ARTIE AND DOROTHY MCFERRIN FOUNDATION and Nathan Day, former CTO SoftLayer, an IBM Company. Red Bull Basement is sponored by Lake Walk Innovation Center and House of Geekdom, as well as The Stella Hotel - where tonight‘s dinner and networking event will be between speaker sessions, workshops and panels at Lake Walk Innovation Center today and tomorrow morning. Day 2 features investor chats and free resources for entrepreneurs, in addition to free breakfast and giveaways from Red Bull and Silicon Valley Bank, led by Aggie President Michael D.. Among workshop presenters are Downtown Bryan-based Founder & CEO Beast Syndicate, JEREMY THOMPSON - a graphic designer whose branding skills are sought after by big corporate in metro cities worldwide. Saturday morning‘s investor pitches will also include Andy, among other Aggie investors in our mentor and fund networks. SKYPaws LLC CEO/Founder Stephanie Young will lead a panel of student startup founders. Among our mentors are Lake Walk Innovation Center members Daniel Kulvicki from Calavista Software in Austin and David Smith, previously of Austin and now living in Bryan - where his company is based at Lake Walk Innovation Center.
