Chris Nee is a Peabody, Humanitas, NAACP and Emmy Award-winning children's television screenwriter and producer, known for the acclaimed series Doc McStuffins. Today we discussed the upcoming Netflix, 10 episode television series "We the People" aimed at teaching youth about citizenship and basic rights of US citizens. The series features original songs by popular artists including H.E.R., Janelle Monáe, Bebe Rexha, Adam Lambert and more. We The People, which streams on Netflix beginning July 4, is also executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, among others. Throughout this 10 episode series, you combine music and animation to educate a new generation of young Americans about extremely important topics. Using animated music videos, the show focuses on a range of basic U.S. civics lessons such as active citizenship, taxes, immigration and more.
