Let me introduce you to a fantastic organization called One More Wave, based out of San Diego, California. OMW creates custom boards (usually surf boards) for veterans with physical/emotional/mental problems AND promotes a lifelong community for their alumni in areas all over the U.S. to come together and surf🏄‍♀️. A special shout-out to Rob Garnett for the outstanding mentorship he has provided to me in my quest for post-combat deployment outdoor recreation programs and mental health assistance thru One More Wave and Warrior Expeditions. Paddling has truly become my happy place, and with my BFF at the helm, life is good. This custom designed, hand-shaped 10.6ft SUP took her maiden voyage on the first day of Spring and glided thru the mangroves like butter. I am so grateful.
