If I say ‘INNOVATION’ what’s the first thing that jumps into your mind?! It might be ‘Eddison’, ‘inventor’, ‘genius’ or ‘wo/men in white coats’ You’re unlikely to think of stunt, or luck, or an event that could have ended in divorce! But innovation is never straight forward and requires so many elements One of the greatest innovations of all time the motor car only happened because of a joy-ride or death-ride. Bertha Benz, wife of Inventor Karl Benz, had had enough of his timid approach, so fed up with him she stole his contraption, driving illegally on roads not made for cars with her young sons on hand to help push her up the steeper hills And so a marketing stunt of the first motor car journey in a 0.88 horse power journey took place. A 60-mile trip from Mannheim to Pforzheim with a max speed of 10mph downhill! The moral of this story is that every genius idea, takes a Team of people to test, apply, systematise until it works. Many businesses do this without realising, but it is better planned in advance to achieve optimum results.
