The 29th of October marks 10 years of the passing of my colleague, Paul Igag. He was one of Papua New Guinea's first ornithologists. At the time of his passing, he was the only formally trained Papua New Guinean permitted under the Australian Bird and Bat Banding Scheme (ABBBS) to carry bird banding project for bird monitoring project. He was an exceptional indigenous scientist who also contributed to training a handful of Papua New Guinea conservationists. Photo credit Andy Mack
