A year ago in Morocco, a question began to take shape and find resonance. Not as a business idea. Not as a strategy. As a feeling. A sense that our maps no longer match the territory. That across business, education, politics, and the economy, the systems we inherited and relied on are struggling to respond to the problems they have helped create: inequality, ecological breakdown, loneliness and burnout, democratic fatigue, and a deep erosion of meaning and trust. But what stayed with me most was not the diagnosis. It was the possibility. It was encountering a community asking a different question: What becomes possible when we stop trying to optimize the current paradigm and begin imagining what might lie beyond it? Through conversations at the House of Beautiful Business—in Tangier, then Istanbul, and later through dialogues and encounters—I found myself surrounded by people exploring new ways of relating, creating, leading, learning, and being in the world. Because imagining what might be is a collective act. It requires space for multiple perspectives, ways of knowing, and feeling. And a question kept returning: What if Latin America could become a source for imagining and prototyping more life-centered futures? Not because the region has solved the global challenges we face. But because many of the fractures of the current paradigm have long been visible here. And alongside them, powerful alternatives continue to emerge: cultures of care and community, social innovation, creative resilience, new economic models, the dialogue between ancestral and scientific knowledge—reimagining what development, prosperity, and progress might mean. That question became Proyecto FuturoPresente. A community, futures lab, and platform rooted in Latin America. A space to connect people and organizations where new ways of creating and relating can emerge. A place to imagine and rehearse what could be. A platform to amplify stories, models, and capabilities for a future where all life can flourish. A few weeks ago, with the endorsement of the House of Beautiful Business, we officially launched FuturoPresente at the #WorldBeautifulBusinessForum in Athens, during the House's 10th anniversary gathering. A new decade. A new geography. A new constellation of perspectives. A contribution from Latin America to the movement for life-centered futures. I'm deeply grateful to Tim Leberecht and Till Grusche for their trust and inspiration, to my co-founder Katty Noack, and to the many members of the HoBB community whose encouragement, questions, and imagination helped shape this project. Over the coming months, we'll share gatherings, learning experiences, collaborations, and new ways to participate. This is an invitation. To those already building hopeful futures across Latin America. To those around the world who feel connected to this region and what it can become. And to anyone who believes a better future is possible. It's time for the future to be present.
