Here is what makes it worse: • Over half of those same organizations self-identify as leaders in digital trust. • The confidence gap is as dangerous as the preparedness gap. Static identity defenses were built for a slower threat environment. Credential harvesting and session hijacking are now automated, high-velocity, and continuous. The defenses most teams are relying on were not designed for that. Continuous, contextual authorization across all identity types is no longer a roadmap item. It is the baseline requirement. And when that identity fabric gets hit, recovery has to be part of the architecture.
