Workforce shortages remain a significant challenge for accommodation and hospitality businesses across Australia Accommodation Australia (AA) and the Australian Hotels Association have joined forces to highlight the importance of ensuring migration settings support the industry's ability to meet guest demand and maintain operations. “Migration is critical for the accommodation sector to fill roles that have been created by growing demand, customer expectations and a downturn in Australians training for important roles like chefs,” AA National CEO James Goodwin said. “To put it bluntly – if we don’t have skilled migration, we don’t have kitchens open in regional areas on a Monday or Tuesday.
