Six years ago we started buying art from Loughborough University's graduating students. We're still doing it, because watching someone's first steps into a creative career matters to us. This year we picked up two pieces from Lottie Hughes, winner of this year's degree show award. Her paintings are full of overlapping figures and colour, built from long days in the studio without a screen in sight. As Lottie put it: "life is about the people we meet, the moments we share and taking the time to appreciate those around us." That's exactly why we're supporting people at the start of their careers, whether that's a graduate artist or a graduate joining our own teams, it's part of who we are.
