How do we build more resilient food value chains between France and the Gulf? This was the focus of a panel discussion at Vision Golfe, where CEO of Abu Dhabi Food Hub, Jens Michel joined industry leaders including Dr. Suleiman Alrshudi, CEO of Gulf Union Foods Co., Hassan Halawy, Group CEO of Elite Agro Holding, and Mustapha BAHMAN, founder of France Originelle, moderated by Raffaele Trapasso, Senior Advisor, MENA Competitiveness Programme, OECD - OCDE. While each panelist brought a different perspective from production, distribution, retail, and trade, there was broad alignment on one point: food security increasingly depends on the strength of the connections between markets. As global supply chains continue to evolve, resilient food systems require more than production capacity alone. They rely on efficient logistics, trusted trade infrastructure, market access, and long-term partnerships that enable food to move reliably from source to destination. The discussion also highlighted the growing opportunity to strengthen Franco-Gulf cooperation by combining expertise in food production, wholesale markets, innovation, and trade infrastructure to support more connected and resilient food value chains. These are the very principles shaping the development of Abu Dhabi Food Hub as a platform designed to connect producers, traders, distributors, and buyers within an integrated food trade ecosystem. #VisionGolfe #FoodSecurity #FoodTrade #SupplyChain #FranceUAE #AgriFood #AbuDhabiFoodHub
