This Black Friday, Abel will once again close its online store and our Fabriek for a full 24 hours. It is the eighth year we have taken this radical pause, and it remains an important part of who we are. With an estimated 80 percent of Black Friday purchases ending up in landfill, the day has become a symbol of overconsumption and impulse buying. It is the antithesis of the intentional way we create at Abel. Our radical choice this year is to go a step further by giving our entire team a paid day off. A reminder that rest has value, that nature restores us, and that slowing down matters. Thank you to our community for supporting decisions that prioritise people and the planet. Together, small radical acts can reshape what this season stands for.
