𝐈𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫 (1971-2026) It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Florian Schneeberger, President of ABB’s Machine Automation division (B&R). Florian tragically lost his life in an accident in Salzburg, Austria, on April 20, 2026. Our deepest condolences go to his family, his wife and four children, during this difficult time. Florian joined ABB in 2022 as Chief Technology Officer for the Machine Automation (B&R) and was appointed President of the division in November 2025. In his time with us, he left a lasting mark on our organization. Those who knew Florian will remember him as an exceptional colleague, a trusted friend, and a deeply respected leader. His visionary thinking, dedication and expertise drove a culture of innovation and strenghtened our customer partnerships worldwide. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Florian embodied the values we hold dear – inspiring us to pursue excellence in both our work and our personal lives. An accomplished sailor who competed in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, and a passionate mountaineer who summited Austria's highest peak, the Großglockner, just a few weeks ago – Florian showed us that great achievements know no boundaries.
