Are you on the balcony or the dancefloor of your business right now? One of the lasting reflections from my Acumen Academy leadership fellowship was this reflection on zooming out. So often in busy, high-performing teams, we are in "doing" mode. Checking things off the to-do list. Rushing into back-to-back meetings. But how do we make time to get off the dance floor of tasks, urgent priorities, putting out fires, and zoom out? Step up onto the balcony and take a look at what's happening beyond our immediate team... even dare to take a long term view? In an ideal world, leaders can strike a balance between staying in the weeds and zooming out to do equally, if not more important work, like strategic thinking, personal development, coaching. Excited to spend the next two days with Geovation team and Ordnance Survey coaches diving into our Insights Discovery findings... so we can create more shared language to navigate the road ahead more effectively and efficiently.
