When we talk about AI and creativity, the conversation is often about replacement. Augmented Performer, an Aalto-led research and performance project, asks a different question: what if AI became a collaborator instead? The project explores real-time human–AI co-creation through live musical improvisation. It has brought together an impressive team of researchers, technologists, psychologists and musicians to investigate new forms of creative interaction. 💻 Rather than replacing the musician, this project helps us to understand how AI can support and inspire new forms of expression without compromising the creativity, artistry and musical intuition that humans bring to a performance. 🎼
