What happens when students spend nine months solving real challenges from leading companies? Patents, startups, and prototypes with real business potential! For 30 years, Product Development Project (PDP) course has challenged multidisciplinary student teams to solve real industry problems. Each year, students from engineering, business, and design spend months working in teams with a €10,000 budget to develop solutions for challenges presented by companies such as KONE, HUS, ABB, Wärtsilä, Saab, Espoon kaupunki - Esbo stad - City of Espoo, and many others. These results are showcased at the Product Design Gala at Aalto Design Factory next week! This year at the Gala you can see: 🔹 A smart ICU measurement solution that saves nurses’ time 🔹 An AI-powered bridge operating system for safer and more energy-efficient ship navigation 🔹 A smart logistics solution automating construction site transport 🔹 A semi-mobile launch system enabling rapid response to drone threats 🔹 Transformable workspaces rethinking traditional site cabins 🔹 A freely rotating swing bringing new experiences to playgrounds This is a unique opportunity for companies, investors, innovators, students, and future collaborators to see how fresh thinking and hands-on learning create real impact. Come meet the teams, test the prototypes, and experience the next generation of product development! 📍 Where: Puumiehenkuja 5 📅 When: May 8, 2026 ⏰ What time: 9:00–17:00 🎟️ Open to everyone
