Tere tulemast Aalto Ülikooli! 🇪🇪 We had the honour of welcoming the President of the Republic of Estonia Alar Karis, accompanied by his spouse Sirje Karis to our campus. The state visit was hosted by President of the Republic Alexander Stubb together with his spouse Suzanne Innes-Stubb. The presidential couples were introduced to space technology and satellite laboratory, as well Aalto Ice and Wave Tank, designed to test ships and other maritime structures in ice conditions. Our students and faculty are collaborating with Estonian researchers, institutions and startups especially in the fields of construction and building technology, energy and fuels as well as electrical and civil engineering.  The visit was during the week of vappu (May Day) – a celebration that is a unique part of the student culture in Finland. Our students handed President Karis and his spouse the students' traditional May Day magazine.
