Robotics, autonomous science, and new interfaces are mutually enabling in ways that compound. Robotics enables autonomous science (SDLs are robotic systems). Autonomous science enables robotics (validated physical data is exactly what world models need most). New interfaces enable both (egocentric video and neural data are invaluable training signal). When AI systems gain access to new modalities of interaction with the world — when they can see, speak, read and write — the resulting capabilities are qualitatively larger than the sum of their parts. The transition to physical world systems is the next such phase transition. The primitives are being built now.
