What began as an initial “no” turned into a 20‑year career defined by growth, resilience and influence. After being turned down in his first 7‑Eleven interview, Kurt was contacted months later by another leader who saw potential in his background. That second chance sparked a career he has never looked back on. Since then, Kurt has built a diverse career across the organization, spending more than eight years as an Area Leader working closely with Franchise Owners, followed by roles in Fresh Food Merchandising, Logistics, Market Leadership and beyond. Each position expanded his perspective, deepened his operational expertise and strengthened his connection to the field. Today, as Senior Manager, Infrastructure and Operational Excellence, Kurt plays a critical role in supporting the field through Retail Initiative (RI) enablement. He helped develop the RI Effectiveness scorecard, now an essential tool across the organization, and continues to travel extensively to support teams where the work happens.
