A special test tribute. On July 17, 2001, Maj. Aaron George and aerial photographer Judson Brohmer perished when their F-16D went down in the Mojave Desert while providing test support. During his time with the 416th FLTS at Edwards, among many other efforts, Maj. George was supporting early development with the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System, a lifesaving #engineering technology that has saved the lives of over 15 aviators since initial fielding in 2014. On April 19, retired #USAF Brig. Gen. Ronald Buckley joined the 416th FLTS as they hosted Maj. Georges children, Jessica and Jake George. During this visit, both were able to revisit their late father's career and contributions to #aerospace. This included a special familiarization flight with a sonic boom dedication over the Edwards airspace. The life of a test pilot is built on determining and accepting risk, evaluating and integrating unproven capabilities to ensure the warfighter can depend on them. Some give their all to ensure others can defend our freedom safely. #AFMC Watch and learn more about this special test tribute- https://lnkd.in/gVuYJVz2 SKULLS RULE! ☠️
