How might architecture begin with place? ππ€πππ‘ πππ¨π€πͺπ§ππ / πΎπ€π‘π‘πππ©ππ«π ππ£π€π¬π‘ππππ begins with what is already there. Originally developed for the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale and presented as part of ππ€π§π ππ£π πππ©π©ππ§ at 3daysofdesign in our head office in Copenhagen, the project explores how architecture can grow from local materials, craft traditions, and shared knowledge. The installation brings together three material investigations from Cuba, Venice, and Western Denmark, each shaped by local ecologies, labour, and making practices. From woven palm leaves and reused mussel shells and algae to bacteria-grown cement, the project looks at how local resources can inform more responsive and responsible building methods. At its core, the work shows how collaboration with local communities can open new ways of working with climate, material, and culture. Presented at our main office in Copenhagen alongside designers and makers exploring related questions of process, material, and sourcing, the project entered a broader conversation about design as a practice of resourcefulness, material innovation, and local intelligence.
