3XN GXN + Mareld Win Kvarter A in Centralstaden Gothenburg! We are pleased to share that, together with MARELD landskapsarkitekter AB, we have been selected to develop Kvarter A in Gothenburg. The project will establish a new central neighbourhood in the heart of the city, strengthening the connection between the station and the surrounding urban fabric and transforming the area from a transport interchange into a vibrant part of the city. Guided by the principle of the city at eye level, it introduces active and welcoming ground floors with retail, restaurants and daily services. By working across scales, from material detailing to wider urban connections, the ambition of the project is to create clear routes, generous public spaces and inviting places to meet. “We are proud to have been entrusted with the continued development of Kvarter A together with Jernhusen AB and the CITY OF GOTHENBURG. Our ambition is to turn a busy interchange into a destination in its own right, a place where people choose to stay, meet and return to, and which generates long-term value for the city,” says Audun Opdal, Senior Partner and Head of Design, 3XN GXN. We are now entering the next phase of the project, during which we will further develop the proposal in close collaboration with Jernhusen and the City of Gothenburg. A total of 45 national and international teams entered the prequalification stage, and we were one of three teams invited to develop proposals in parallel.
