Last week, the 3C Metal Belmet South Africa team conducted a simulated fall-arrest rescue drill in their Heavy Bay workshop. The exercise tested emergency response procedures by simulating the rescue of a worker suspended following a fall-arrest incident. After the emergency alarm was activated, employees evacuated the workshop while the designated rescue team responded. Using a cherry picker, the team safely recovered the suspended casualty and lowered them to the ground, where first aiders conducted a simulated casualty assessment and first-aid response. Regular emergency drills help validate response procedures, strengthen coordination between teams and provide valuable opportunities to practice critical rescue techniques in a controlled environment. These exercises ensure that personnel understand their roles and are prepared to respond safely and effectively when it matters most. #SafetyFirst #EmergencyPreparedness #WorkplaceSafety #IndustrialSafety #HSE
