🇺🇸 The Legacy We Leave Matters One of the things I appreciate most about serving our Nation is the opportunity to learn from leaders who understand the importance of honoring the past while preparing for the future. During a recent conversation on the Your Next Mission® Video Podcast with LTG Joe Hilbert and CSM Jeffery Weaver shared a perspective that resonated with me as we celebrated the US Army’s 251st Birthday. Their message was simple: we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. Every generation of Soldiers inherits a legacy built through sacrifice, service, and commitment to something greater than themselves. As I reflect on my own years in uniform, I often think about the responsibility that comes with that inheritance. It’s not enough to appreciate the legacy we receive—we have an obligation to strengthen it for those who follow. For Veterans, Servicemembers, Transitioning Servicemembers, and Military Families, that responsibility does not end when the uniform comes off. We continue to serve through leadership, mentorship, and by investing in the next generation. The question I continue to ask myself is this: What am I doing today to ensure those who come after me inherit something even stronger than what was entrusted to me? That is how legacies endure. 🇺🇸 #USArmy251stBirthday #YourNextMission #8thArmyKorea #EighthArmyCommandTeam #LieutenantGeneralJosephHilbert #CSMJefferyDWeaver #CampHumphreySouthKorea #ArmyolderthanAmerica #Army251 #ReadytoFightTonight #KatchiKapshida #ROKArmyalliance #BackboneUniversity #KATUSAprogram #tournormalization #321assignmentmodel #militaryleadershippodcast #Veterantransition #militarypodcast #AmericanFreedomFoundation
