One of the hardest things to explain about staying in IT recruitment long enough is this: The job stops looking like recruitment. You spend less time finding candidates. More time reading a client who says they're committed but isn't. Spotting the candidate who'll take a counter-offer before they know it themselves. Talking someone out of a hire that looks perfect on paper and would've been a disaster three months later. Most of your value lives in problems that never happened. Which means it never shows on a dashboard. No metric captures the candidate who didn't blow up a final round. No KPI reflects the client who didn't lose six months chasing the wrong profile. Some of your most valuable work never appears in a spreadsheet. That's why you're trusted.
