As VP of Professional Development for Pi Sigma Epsilon - University of South Carolina, I’m always looking for ways to elevate the opportunities we bring to our chapter and push our members to think bigger about their careers. Last night, we had the privilege of hosting Nichole Cassells Stevens from Beemok Capital. As Vice President of Marketing, she leads the company’s marketing efforts. She shared real, practical insight on building a career with intention. She offered advice to our membership on how to network the right way, how to stand out in competitive hiring processes, and how to manage burnout, something all college students relate to. One point that really stood out to me was the importance of building a strong portfolio and digital footprint. Instead of simply listing experiences on a resume, successful professionals keep track of metrics, projects, and results. Companies and hiring managers value tangible impact. Her advice on following up, staying persistent, and genuinely getting to know people in the room was a reminder that professional growth isn’t passive. You have to lean in. We’re incredibly grateful to Nichole for taking the time to invest in our members and share advice that we’ll carry with us far beyond college. Opportunities like this are what make PSE special. Looking forward to continuing to bring leaders like her to our chapter.
