š”Ā Excited to see the official launch of the KAIST-FORMOSA Bio R&D Center, a landmark collaboration between KAIST and Taiwan's Formosa Group. This initiative represents more than just a research partnershipāit is a bold step toward transforming the future of drug discovery and precision medicine. By combining: š¬ KAIST's world-leading expertise in organoids, AI, and biomedical technologies š„ Chang Gung Memorial Hospital's extensive clinical data and patient tissue resources š Formosa Group's strong commitment to global bio-innovation the center will develop next-generation New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) that can more accurately predict human responses while reducing reliance on animal testing. One of the biggest challenges in pharmaceutical development is the "Death Valley" between preclinical research and successful human trials, where nearly 90% of drug candidates fail. Through AI-powered organoid platforms, this collaboration aims to bridge that gap, accelerate the development of treatments for rare and incurable diseases, and create a more efficient path from discovery to patient care. With approximately KRW 17 billion in research investment over the next five years, the KAIST-FORMOSA Bio R&D Center is positioned to become a global hub for biomedical innovation. The future of healthcare will be built through interdisciplinary and international collaborationāand this is a powerful example of what that future looks like. #KAIST #FormosaGroup #ChangGungMemorialHospital #Biotech #HealthcareInnovation #DrugDiscovery #Organoids #ArtificialIntelligence #PrecisionMedicine #NAMs #BiomedicalResearch #GlobalCollaboration
