Role Description The Co Founder will play a key leadership role in setting Bilima’s vision, strategy, and operational roadmap in Tanzania. This is a full-time, on-site role that involves working closely with the founding team to drive product development, build partnerships with beverage businesses and logistics providers, and oversee daily operations. Responsibilities include defining and validating the business model, leading market research and customer discovery, and translating insights into product and service improvements. The Co Founder will help secure and manage funding, design go-to-market plans, and represent Bilima in meetings with investors, partners, and industry stakeholders. The role also includes building and mentoring a high-performing team, establishing processes, and ensuring that the company maintains strong financial discipline and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in entrepreneurship, business leadership, or senior management within technology, logistics, retail, or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong skills in business strategy, market analysis, and financial planning, including budgeting and revenue forecasting.
  • Experience building partnerships and negotiating agreements with suppliers, retailers, wholesalers, and logistics providers.
  • Ability to lead product development and operations, working closely with technical and non-technical teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and align diverse groups.
  • Comfort with data-driven decision-making and familiarity with digital platforms, marketplaces, or B2B SaaS products.
  • Knowledge of the Tanzanian beverage market or broader supply chain ecosystem is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or startup experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Tanzania, demonstrate resilience in fast-changing environments, and commit to long-term company growth.
