Role Description The Construction Estimator is a full-time remote role responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and developing detailed estimates and budgets. The estimator collaborates with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing, clarify scope, and refine cost assumptions. The role involves tracking and updating cost data, analyzing bids, and preparing proposal documents. The estimator also supports value engineering efforts, maintains estimating tools and databases, and contributes to continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs for residential and commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in Cost Management and Budgeting, including cost tracking and variance analysis.
  • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Experience with construction estimating software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel or similar tools).
  • Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and project specifications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Relevant experience as a construction estimator or in a related construction management role.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines consistently.
