About the Role
LG&P is seeking a Production Manager to help transform ideas into retail-ready solutions. This role is central to our project management team, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production process for all outsourced retail displays, fixtures, and in-store marketing materials. This position ensures projects transition seamlessly from the internal Project Management (PM) team to external manufacturing partners (vendors), maintaining strict adherence to quality, cost, and schedule requirements. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of retail manufacturing processes, exceptional vendor management skills, and a meticulous approach to tracking and execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Quality Management
- Manufacturing Oversight: Act as the primary internal point of contact for all production-related activities, ensuring that specifications, materials, and processes align with approved designs and engineering packages.
- Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Support LG&P’s quality control process, including reviewing vendor-provided proofs, prototypes, and first-off samples. Coordinate final sign-off on production units for PM approval before mass fabrication begins.
- Troubleshooting: Proactively identify potential production issues (e.g., material shortages, technical challenges) and collaborate with vendors and the internal PM team to implement timely solutions.
2. Vendor Management
- Purchase Orders (POs): Generate and issue formal Purchase Orders (POs) to selected vendors, ensuring all pricing, terms, specifications, and delivery dates are accurately documented.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor vendor performance against contractual agreements, focusing on on-time delivery (OTD), quality standards, and adherence to LG&P's compliance requirements.
3. Project Tracking & Communication
- Schedule & Milestone Tracking: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for all active projects, tracking critical backend milestones from final engineering approval through production, finishing, assembly, packaging, and final shipment.
- Vendor Follow-Up: Conduct daily or regular check-ins with manufacturing partners to monitor progress, address bottlenecks, and ensure production remains on track against agreed-upon timelines.
- Internal Reporting: Provide consistent and transparent updates on production status, risks, and potential delays to the Project Management team, Design team, and leadership.
- Document Control: Ensure all production files, including approved technical drawings, material certifications, QA reports, and shipping manifests, are accurately documented and archived.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5+ years of relevant experience in production management, manufacturing, or sourcing, preferably within the retail display/fixture, POP (Point-of-Purchase), or custom fabrication industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of various retail manufacturing methods (e.g., CNC routing, injection molding, metal fabrication, finishing processes, print production, electrical integration).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate and manage relationships with external partners and communicate complex technical information internally.
- Project Management: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana) for tracking complex, multi-vendor projects simultaneously.
- Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel occasionally and work flexible hours as needed.
