We're working with an international high-tech engineering company that designs and builds advanced testing equipment used by large manufacturers and research organisations worldwide.
They are looking for an experienced Control Systems (PLC) Engineer to take ownership of the control systems behind complex industrial machines.
What you will be doing
• Designing new PLC functionality and improving existing systems
• Programming, configuring, testing and debugging control applications
• Working with software engineers on user-friendly HMI solutions
• Testing systems together with production and assembly teams
• Supporting commissioning, updates and technical troubleshooting
• Taking ownership of projects from design through to implementation
• Occasionally travelling internationally, only if this is something you enjoy
What they are looking for
• 5+ years of experience as a PLC Engineer
• Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT, Allen-Bradley or Siemens
• Strong Structured Text programming experience
• Experience with Object-Oriented Programming
• Basic electrical fault-finding and measurement knowledge
• Comfortable working hands-on with complex machinery
• Able to coordinate priorities with engineering, service, sales and management
Nice to have
• Lead engineering or mentoring experience
• Experience with electrical schematics or control cabinet design
• Knowledge of OPC, Modbus or similar communication protocols
• Experience in machine building or industrial production environments
• HMI design experience
• Strong structured troubleshooting skills
