Purem by Eberspächer is a leading global automotive supplier specializing in exhaust and acoustic systems, with manufacturing and engineering operations across multiple countries worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced Global Customs Specialist to join our international team and help shape and optimize our global customs compliance framework.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across Logistics, Procurement, Compliance, Legal, and our international subsidiaries to ensure compliant and efficient import customs processes. You will contribute to customs governance, support international projects, and help drive continuous improvement across our global operations.

Responsibilities
- Advise and support international subsidiaries on import customs processes and controls.
- Manage and monitor customs authorizations, permits, and special procedures while ensuring compliance with applicable customs regulations.
- Coordinate and support internal and external customs audits.
- Define, monitor, and analyze customs KPIs to improve compliance and process efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to optimize and standardize global customs processes.
- Collaborate with Logistics, Procurement, Compliance, Legal, and other cross-functional teams.
- Monitor developments in international customs legislation and translate regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
- Develop and maintain customs guidelines, standards, and work instructions.
- Deliver training and support customs representatives across our international organization.
Qualifications
- Degree or professional qualification in Customs, Foreign Trade, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Several years of professional experience in import customs operations and customs authorization management.
- Strong knowledge of EU customs legislation (UCC); knowledge of US or other international customs regulations is an advantage.
- Experience working with customs systems and ERP systems (SAP is an advantage).
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Structured, independent, and detail-oriented working style.
- Conversational English is required. German language skills are considered a strong advantage.
