We’re seeking an experienced and driven Senior ICT Governance Advisor – Audit & Quality Assurance to join our team and make a meaningful impact.

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in ICT Governance, Risk and Compliance, working closely with stakeholders to strengthen governance practices, enhance compliance, and drive continuous improvement across ICT services and operations.

You’ll go beyond maintaining frameworks — you’ll refine, uplift and embed them. By leading enhancements to governance policies, processes and controls, and supporting the growth of our Information Security Management System (ISMS), you’ll play a key role in ensuring our environment remains secure, resilient and aligned with best practice with a strong focus on quality assurance, audit and reporting.

Position: Senior ICT Governance Advisor – Audit & Quality Assurance

Salary from: Permanent Full Time, Level 6.1 $108,354.51 per annum + Superannuation

Location: 150 Wembley Road, Logan Central QLD 4114.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Lead control owners to create and maintain risk reporting and assurance frameworks
  • Verify and report on risk treatment completion using structured methodologies
  • Develop and enhance metrics and dashboards to track ISMS performance, governance effectiveness and audit outcomes
  • Conduct and facilitate control effectiveness checks
  • Develop, maintain and deliver the ISMS internal audit program aligned to ISO27001 and other requirements
  • Manage and reduce Council’s exposure to ICT and cloud security risks
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and reduce costs
  • Facilitate management of nonconformances and corrective actions
  • Ensure governance documentation aligns with ISO standards and PCI-DSS requirements
  • Provide expert advice on ICT governance, risk, compliance, policies and standards
  • Engage across the IT project lifecycle to support governance and compliance outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence best practice outcomes

Key indicators for success:

  • Demonstrated experience in ICT Governance, Risk and Compliance frameworks and methodologies
  • Knowledge of ISO27001 and information security practices
  • Experience in internal audit, assurance or quality frameworks
  • Strong ability to develop reports, dashboards and performance metrics
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including facilitation and influencing
  • Proven analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written communication skills, including policy and documentation development
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively to deliver outcomes
