Role Description This full-time Plumber role is an on-site position located in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area at St. Edward’s University. The Plumber will install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures across campus facilities, including pipes, valves, faucets, drains, and restroom and kitchen equipment. Daily tasks include diagnosing plumbing issues, performing preventive maintenance, responding to work orders, and ensuring systems comply with safety and building codes. The role involves collaborating with facilities staff, coordinating with contractors when needed, and keeping accurate records of work performed. The Plumber will interact with campus community members, providing professional, courteous service while supporting a safe, reliable, and comfortable environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in plumbing installation, repair, and system troubleshooting.
• Candidates should possess skills in working with pipes and related components, including cutting, fitting, and joining.
• Candidates should possess maintenance and repair skills for plumbing fixtures and building systems.
• Candidates should possess customer service skills to communicate clearly and respectfully with campus community members.
• Relevant qualifications such as a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a plumbing apprenticeship or vocational training.
• Valid plumbing license or certification as required by local or state regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, and best practices in plumbing maintenance.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, working in confined spaces, and using hand and power tools safely.
• Experience in institutional, commercial, or campus facility environments is beneficial.
