Job Purpose
The Logistics & Warehouses Assistant Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations by supporting the receiving, inspecting, organizing, and storing of goods. This position involves maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting order fulfillment, and utilizing proper handling equipment for loading/unloading materials. The role also includes maintaining a clean, organized workspace, applying the 5S methodology, assisting in spare parts and tools management, and supporting final takeovers and calibration processes to ensure optimal warehouse efficiency.

Receiving And Inspecting Goods
- Receive incoming shipments, verify the quantity and quality of products against purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for any damage or defects and promptly report discrepancies to supervisors for further action.
Inventory Management
- Organize and store items within the warehouse in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in performing regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Order Fulfillment
- Accurately pick and pack orders for shipment to customers or internal departments, ensuring items are prepared for transport.
- Ensure proper labeling of items and verify that orders are correctly packed for delivery.
Loading and Unloading
- Safely load and unload goods from delivery trucks or containers using appropriate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Follow safety protocols and ensure proper handling techniques are used during the loading and unloading process.
Product Handling
- Handle products with care to minimize damage and ensure safety during storage and movement.
- Follow correct lifting techniques and use equipment as needed to safely move heavy or bulky items.
Cleaning and Organization
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment by ensuring aisles are clear, and materials are properly stored.
- Assist in improving workflow efficiency and safety by maintaining an orderly workspace.
Additional Support
- Assist the technician in applying the 5S methodology in storerooms to maintain a streamlined and organized workspace.
- Support the technician in managing spare parts and tools for final takeovers from the customer (NAT).
- Help the technician with the physical collection of tools requiring calibration.
- Undertake other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift certification and competency in operating material handling equipment.
- Training in materials handling and health & safety procedures.
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of CMMS (preferably Maximo) for inventory and asset management.
- Familiarity with standard warehouse and stockroom operations, best practices, and procedures.
- Understanding of inventory management principles and proper record-keeping practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Knowledge of 5S methodology and workplace organization principles.
- Understanding of safety protocols and proper material handling procedures.
Experience
- 0–3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics.
- Hands-on experience with stock control, order fulfillment, and material handling.
- Experience in receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing goods within a warehouse environment.
