Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Wellbeing is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of employee wellbeing initiatives that promote a healthy, inclusive, engaged, and productive workplace. The role works closely with HR leaders, people managers, employees, and external partners to deliver programmes that support mental, physical, emotional, social, and financial wellbeing while reinforcing a positive employee experience.
Contributes to the overall success of the Wellbeing-HR Solutions unit in Jamaica, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos and Cayman ensuring that specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and achieved in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures that all activities are carried out in compliance with current internal policies, standards, and procedures.
Accountabilities:
- Plans and oversees health and wellbeing, activities by organizing programs, campaigns, and health fairs that enhance employees’ physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing (e.g., vaccinations, psychology, vision care, dermatology, nutrition, etc.); as well as planning and coordinating the communication strategy for these initiatives.
- Analyzes, follows up on, and manages critical and/or sensitive cases involving personal, health, family, and humanitarian issues, proposing alternative solutions and support.
- Manage all processes related to employee medical leave and monitors absenteeism.
- Provides support in analyzing research/survey findings and provides recommendations.
- Assimilates and analyzes information from a variety of sources and formulate recommendations for action.
- Assists with research on comparative benefits data for companies across the Group and within the external competitive market

- Support policy development and process improvements related to employee wellbeing, absence management, resilience, inclusion, and workplace support
- Support the management of Employee Assistance Programmes, counselling referrals, occupational health services, and other wellbeing resources.
Key Deliverables:
- Successful delivery of wellbeing initiatives and annual programme calendar.
- Improved employee awareness and utilisation of wellbeing resources.
- Timely reporting on wellbeing participation, feedback, trends, and outcomes.
- Effective coordination with internal stakeholders and external wellbeing providers.
- Practical recommendations that support a healthier and more engaged workforce.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development, Social Work, Health Promotion, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in human resources, employee wellbeing, employee engagement, occupational health, organizational development, or a related people-focused role.
- Strong understanding across all areas in Human Resources, and the labour and regulatory environment, and reporting requirements in Jamaica.
- Certification in wellness, mental health first aid, coaching, HR, or occupational health would be an advantage.
- Experience coordinating employee programmes, workshops, campaigns, or organizational initiatives.
