We partner with specifiers, contractors, and wholesalers to deliver innovative lighting and smart building solutions that create sustainable, long-term value for our customers.

We are currently seeking an Account Manager to operate from our Auckland Office. Reporting to the General Manager, also based in Auckland, the role will be to generate leads and develop new business relationships in North Island ( possibility to travel South Island too). The role requires a strong focus on innovation, creative thinking, and a consistent, disciplined approach to the sales process.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and leads across industry and end-user markets, with direct focus on Electrical Contractors in relation with the wholesale channel.
  • Promote the Thorn and Zumtobel product ranges, working with clients to deliver the best lighting solution for their needs.
  • Build and manage strong client relationships, staying active and proactive in the market.
  • Ensuring development of new opportunities by coordination within the following influencers: Electrical Contractors, Wholesalers, Project managers, Maintenance Managers , Builders, Electrical Consultants, Lighting Designers.
  • Achieve predefined revenue and profit budgets.
  • Provide weekly planning, call reports, and project updates through the CRM system, maintaining open and transparent communication.
  • Monitor and report on market activity, including competitor and customer developments.
  • Share project information transparently with the team and collaborate with colleagues on shared opportunities.
  • Work closely with office support to manage projects from the early stages through to final sale and throughout the warranty period.
  • Continually upskill and develop product knowledge.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of three years of relevant industry experience.
  • A good understanding of lighting design principles, with a genuine willingness to further develop product and technical knowledge.
  • A creative, resourceful mindset with strong organisational and planning capabilities.
  • Strong relationship-building ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to self-motivate, paired with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • A dynamic, technical sales approach with a competitive nature and a genuine commitment to customer service.
