Role Description The Lecturer in Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy will contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and assessment within relevant undergraduate and postgraduate programs. This full-time role is based in Cork, with a combination of on-campus teaching and meetings, and some flexibility for remote preparation, student support, and administrative tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering lectures and tutorials, supervising practical sessions and clinical-related learning, and providing academic guidance and mentorship to students. The lecturer will engage in scholarly activity, contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement of the program, and participate in school and departmental committees as required. The role also involves collaborating with clinical partners, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of professional standards, and supporting the integration of research and evidence-based practice into teaching.
Duties of the Post: In accordance with the University’s strategic objective as a research-led institution, the responsibilities of all academic staff will include research, research-led teaching and contributions to the University, the discipline and the community. The academic staff member shall teach and examine, undertake administrative duties and carry out other duties appropriate to the post under the general direction of the Head of Discipline of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy or their nominee.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL
1. A BSc or MSc in Diagnostic Radiography, or equivalent
2. Registerable with CORU under the Radiographers Registration Board
DESIRABLE
3. A doctorate or equivalent professional qualification or research experience, including publications equivalent to a doctoral thesis in Diagnostic Radiography, Radiation Therapy, Medical Physics or equivalent. or equivalent.
4. A qualification in tertiary education practice, such as a graduate certificate in teaching and learning or a fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
Teaching and Examining
ESSENTIAL
5. Demonstrated teaching excellence in Diagnostic Radiography, or equivalent education delivery. Evidence can include job descriptions, testimonials, student feedback, peer review of teaching, teaching awards, and scholarship in teaching and learning.
6. Demonstrated contribution across clinical, undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching programmes in Diagnostic Radiography, or equivalent.
DESIRABLE
7. Evidence of practice education
8. Evidence of the use of modern teaching technologies.
9. Evidence of innovative teaching and curriculum development.
10. Evidence of teaching, inspiring and supervising students, communicating ideas and concepts in a teaching and learning environment.
