Diving Coach - Part Time

Description: Part time position assisting the head coach in administering all aspects of a

Division III varsity diving program. The position runs for most of the academic year and includes

evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred, knowledge of college diving, competitive diving

experience preferred, previous coaching experience preferred, commitment to the student-

athlete, passion for the sport, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, communication and

organizational skills, Self-motivated with the ability to recruit, teach and coach highly talented

scholar-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment, cultural competence

when working with a diverse student body, valid driver’s license required, current Red Cross

First Aid and CPR certification required, lifeguard training certification preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Coach all diving practices, meets, and dryland activities.

• Follow all industry standards for safety in a competitive diving environment.

• Manage all aspects of recruiting divers.

• Know and follow all NCAA Division III legislation for recruiting visits, PSA evaluations,

and communication with PSAs.

Help oversee academic and personal well-being of all swimming & diving student-

athletes.

• Assist with travel, meal arrangements and fundraising.

• Assist with upkeep and maintenance of all diving boards, harnesses, trampoline, and

other equipment.

• Have a working knowledge of e-Dive and Dive Meet software.

• Safely use a trampoline and spotting rig for training and instructive purposes

• Teach new dives and techniques with an ability to analyze diving performances and

identify areas needed for improvement,
