Role Description The Assistant Project Manager – Construction is a full-time, on-site role based in Chino, CA. This role supports the Project Manager in coordinating day-to-day construction activities, including scheduling, tracking project progress, and assisting with documentation and reporting. Responsibilities include supporting material procurement and delivery, helping manage subcontractors and vendors, and ensuring that work aligns with project specifications and timelines. The Assistant Project Manager will assist with inspections, quality control, and jobsite logistics, and will regularly communicate with field teams, office staff, and clients to resolve issues and keep projects on schedule and within budget. This position requires close collaboration with operations and field leadership to maintain safety, efficiency, and compliance on active job sites.

Qualifications

  • Experience with the following agencies: Public Works, Caltrans, Metro, Foothill Transit.
  • Experience running up to $1,000,000 of work.
  • Experience with expediting and expeditor responsibilities, including tracking materials, coordinating deliveries, and supporting timely project execution.
  • Hands-on involvement in project management activities such as scheduling, documentation, and coordination of project stakeholders.
  • Ability to assist with inspection-related tasks, quality checks, and adherence to project plans and applicable codes.
  • Skills in logistics management, including organizing jobsite resources, equipment, and materials to support efficient construction operations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with field crews, office staff, vendors, and clients.
  • Basic understanding of electrical or construction practices; prior experience in the construction or electrical contracting industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency with common office and project software (e.g., MS Office, project management tools); ability to learn company systems quickly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; further technical training or education in construction management, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies and industry standards.

The starting base pay for this role is $65,000. Final salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferable skills, work experience, education, references, and experience with agencies mentioned above.
