Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Distribution – APAC, this exciting position is responsible for warehousing and distribution for a broad portfolio of Life Science products across South Korea. Leading a diverse team of leaders, the position will be responsible for end to end distribution processes.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on team player with high energy and work as a collaborative leader to achieve operational goals. This person must be highly self-motivated, have an intense customer focus and be able to satisfy both internal and external customer requirements.
Your Role
- Be responsible for driving performance across all operational aspects—safety, customer delivery, quality, and cost management.
- Substantial experience in all technical areas of logistics operations, including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management, asset management, communications, and security.
- Attracts, develops, and retains top performers through networking, training, coaching, development, and assigning stretch goals. Leads with a clear vision and drives achievement of goals and objectives.
- Acts as a mentor to establish a learning organization.
- Suitable candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives.
- The candidate plays a highly collaborative role and will routinely work with cross-functional teams to enable commercial growth strategies. Able to utilize a robust toolbox of influence skills to effectively manage across a matrixed organization and foster teamwork.
- Key role requiring alignment across multiple levels of the organization with strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Develop and implement Life Science Distribution strategies and procedures for the management of transport, import/export, logistics, warehousing, and for the management of vehicle fleets, communications, systems, and assets.
- Ensure that Life Science logistics flow is appropriate and cost-effective, based on budget, markets, infrastructure, global and regional distribution guidelines, and the need for timely delivery and reporting functions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory provisions pertaining to environmental, safety, and security (including data protection) matters at the Songdo site.
- Comply with the rules set forth by the Quality and EHS management systems and Corporate our Standards, Code of Conduct, and procedures pertaining to site activities.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- + 10 years of experience in a supply chain and distribution role
- Proven track record in managing and supervising others in logistics, including training and capacity building
- Experience with frequent visibility and interaction with senior-level managers
- Strong understanding of biotech and pharmaceutical customer expectations of Life Science suppliers is a plus
- Knowledge of QMS, ISO (cGMP is a plus)
- Experience in the chemical industry (life science, medical devices, pharma, biotech a plus)
- Related certificates are preferred (Black Belt or Green Belt, PMP, CPM or CPIM)
- Fluent in Korean and English
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams
- Experience with structured problem-solving techniques is desired
