Senior Enterprise Risk Officer
A growing $28B+ Southeast regional bank — expanding fast through acquisition — is hiring a Senior Enterprise Risk Officer to build out its Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Operational Risk governance function from the ground up.
This isn't a seat in an already-built machine. You'll design the framework, own it end-to-end, and have a clear path to building your own team once it's established. If you're currently one layer inside a much larger bank's risk hierarchy and want real ownership, this is that move.
What you'll own:
- Lead the design and execution of RCSA across assigned business units
- Serve as the enterprise-wide go-to on risk assessment
- Provide credible challenge to the Operational Risk team on testing and control execution
- Develop and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) — targets, tolerances, limits
- Manage the KRI action plan process, including root-cause analysis and benchmarking
- Prepare board- and executive-committee-level risk reporting
- Shape risk management policy, procedure, and framework as the program matures
What you bring:
- 7–10+ years in Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, or Internal Audit — banking background required
- Direct, hands-on experience owning an RCSA program (not just participating in one)
- Experience building KRIs and risk appetite frameworks, and translating them for senior leadership
- A track record of pushing back and escalating early, not just documenting
- Comfort operating in a function that's still being built, not one that's fully mature
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
