For our projects in Riyadh, Makkah and Madinah, we are looking for
Electrical Engineer – 100% (m/f) with experience in the Middle East.
The Ideal Candidate will have Extensive experience in the construction-stage engineering management of large-scale hospitality and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of LV/MV power distribution, lighting, small power, emergency power, earthing, lightning protection and fire-alarm systems, together with proven experience reviewing electrical shop drawings, calculations, technical submittals and RFIs while coordinating with consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Experience delivering luxury hotels, branded residences or complex mixed-use developments is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Review IFB and IFC electrical drawings, identify discrepancies, design changes and potential construction impacts, and prepare or coordinate RFIs and technical clarifications until closure.
- Review electrical shop drawings, load schedules, single-line diagrams, design calculations, material submittals and method statements for MV/LV distribution, lighting, small power, emergency power, earthing, lightning protection and fire-alarm systems.
- Review electrical-room and equipment layouts, containment systems, builders’ work drawings and combined-services drawings for compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate Electrical interfaces with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, ICT/ELV, BMS, Vertical Transportation, Kitchen, Laundry and other specialist disciplines.
- Support BIM coordination and multidisciplinary clash resolution and follow up consultant and subcontractor comments until submissions are approved.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility providers, suppliers and project stakeholders to resolve construction-stage technical issues.
- Review technical proposals, equipment selections and value-engineering solutions, ensuring capacity, reliability, maintainability, life safety and project requirements are maintained.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, Saudi Building Code, Saudi authority requirements and applicable IEC, IEEE, NFPA and international standards.
- Support procurement, factory and site acceptance testing, energisation, site inspections, testing and commissioning and resolution of non-conformances.
- Coordinate electrical interfaces with fire alarm, emergency-power, life-safety, ICT/ELV, BMS and other integrated building systems.
- Participate in technical coordination meetings, contribute to engineering progress reporting and coordinate deliverables with procurement, authority approvals and construction programmes.
- Support review of as-built drawings, testing records and final technical documentation and ensure only approved drawings and documents are used for construction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience on large-scale hospitality, luxury hotel, branded-residence or complex mixed-use developments.
- Strong technical experience in MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, lighting, earthing, lightning protection and fire-alarm systems.
- Construction-stage engineering management experience is mandatory.
- Strong experience reviewing electrical shop drawings, load schedules, single-line diagrams, calculations, material submittals, RFIs and method statements.
- Experience with testing and commissioning, FAT/SAT documentation, energisation and technical close-out activities.
- Previous experience working with international consultants, PMCs, hotel operators, utility providers, specialist suppliers and major contractors.
- Middle East experience is mandatory; Saudi Arabia experience is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of Saudi Building Code, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS and applicable Saudi authority requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP and Navisworks.
- Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution or relevant certification would be an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to be based on projects in Riyadh, Makkah or Madinah.
