About the Role:

The Senior Accountant will support the Finance Manager in all aspects of financial reporting and accounting operations. This role is responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, quarterly and annual financial reporting, external audit support, and ensuring accounting records are maintained in accordance with US GAAP. The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, experience with fixed assets and lease accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to improving financial reporting processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Close:

  • Support the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in accordance with US GAAP.

Accounts Payable:

  • Ownership of accounts payable function
  • Review and approve vendor invoices and payments
  • Monitor and manage aging reports
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all transactions

Audit & Compliance:

  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors
  • Assist with internal audit processes and compliance requirements
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and audit trails
  • Support lender reporting and covenant compliance requirements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Support cash flow forecasting and monitoring

Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting:

  • Own and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Record capital additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
  • Perform periodic reconciliations of fixed asset balances.
  • Account for leases in accordance with applicable US GAAP lease accounting guidance.
  • Support capital expenditure tracking and fixed asset reporting.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and controls
  • Help develop and document accounting policies and procedures by researching technical accounting matters and prepare memoranda for management review.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and ERP tools

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA/ACCA qualified or actively pursuing CPA /ACCA is a must

Experience:

  • Minimum 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong experience preparing financial statements under US GAAP
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm) is a strong plus
  • Experience in a fast-growing or project-based company preferred
  • Prior experience supporting audits and lender reporting is highly desirable

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a fast-growing or project-based company preferred
  • Prior experience supporting audits and lender reporting is highly desirable
