The Country Manager will lead our ABL business segment in Thailand. You will play a pivotal role in developing client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving growth, while also undertaking chargeable surveying and consultancy work.
What will you be doing?
- Lead and develop ABL's Thailand business, delivering sustainable growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
- Drive business development activities, building strong client relationships, and expandABL's presence in the Thailand market.
- Undertake chargeable consultancy and surveying assignments, including vessel surveys, marine assurance activities, and more.
- Ensure the successful delivery of high-quality consultancy and engineering services that meet client requirements.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Thailand team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on collaboration and client service.
- Manage the recruitment, development, and retention of employees and subcontractors in line with business needs and approved budgets.
- Oversee resource planning and deployment to ensure the efficient utilisation of personnel while maintaining high levels of client service.
- Maintain oversight of projects and contracts, including pricing, profitability, cost control, cash collection, and financial performance.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to share resources, support cross-selling opportunities, and deliver integrated client solutions.
- Prepare and present business performance, operational, and financial reports to regional and executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with ABL policies, industry regulations, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Lead and support internal audits, risk management activities, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong QHSE culture, providing visible leadership and ensuring compliance across all operations and project activities.
- Represent ABL with clients, industry bodies, and at key market events, enhancing the company's profile and reputation in Thailand.
- Work closely with Country Managers, Directors, and others across ABL to share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Undertake other duties as required to support the successful operation and growth of the business.
What are we looking for?
- Holder of a Master Mariner (STCW II/2) or Chief Engineer (STCW III/2) qualification.
- Proven experience within the offshore oil and gas industry, including at least 10 years in relevant marine, engineering, or consultancy roles.
- Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience as a Tow Master, Marine Representative, or in a comparable offshore operational role.
- Strong understanding of marine assurance, offshore engineering, marine operations, and consultancy services within the offshore energy sector.
- Experience leading complex projects and contributing to the development and execution of business strategies and growth plans.
- Proven leadership and people management experience, with the ability to motivate teams and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Experience of pilotage, vessel inspections, warranty surveys, or related marine assurance activities is desirable.

This position will be based at our office in Siracha, Thailand. You must have the legal right to live and work in Thailand.
The job holder will be expected to undertake onshore and offshore assignments on a frequent basis.
