About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at Peter Park System GmbH. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in evolving and scaling our core backend systems that underpin our parking solutions. Your expertise will directly impact the performance, reliability, and scalability of our platform, which serves both B2B and B2C customers across Europe. Qualifications
- Proven experience as a senior backend developer, demonstrating ownership and impact on business-critical projects.
- Deep expertise in programming languages such as Typescript, Javascript, Python, or C++, with a strong ability to adapt to new tools and frameworks rapidly.
- Extensive experience working with modern backend frameworks like NestJS, Flask, Fastify, or FastAPI in production environments handling high throughput.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and API design.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, including services like Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, and infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, especially GitLab.
- Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level), with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize core backend systems that support our parking solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate seamless, automated deployment processes for backend and IoT systems.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting strategies using tools like Datadog to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
- Contribute to scaling our infrastructure to efficiently manage thousands of parking lots across multiple regions.
- Promote best practices in software engineering, including clean code, thorough testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with product teams, frontend developers, and operations to deliver cohesive and innovative solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our platform and processes.
